Lifestyle: Filipe Likes Giving Back

Anyone who knows OLE MASON JAR co-founder Filipe Ho, knows that he is not your average Joe. His never-meet-a-stranger attitude, boundless energy, and unique style are an intense combination not to be ignored. To know Filipe, is to love him; which is why we have decided to devote this summer to delving into the innermost workings (ahem– organized chaos) that is Filipe Ho.

For our third and final installment of “Filipe Likes,” we are checking in with him to see how he has been serving in our local community this summer. Although Filipe volunteers at numerous organizations throughout the Carolinas, we are going to highlight just a few, and also share how the rest company gives back as well.

One of the founding principles of OLE MASON JAR is giving back to the community. As a partner with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, OLE MASON JAR donates money to feed one of the 221,000 children and senior adults living in poverty in the Charlotte-Metro area for a day with every shirt sold. Essentially, as a customer, you are providing basic necessities for those in need! Also, through donating to or volunteering at a local food bank, you can help end child hunger in your area.

Earlier this month, Filipe had the opportunity to participate in and help coordinate Elevation Church’s LOVE Week volunteer projects. When asked about his profound experience, Filipe said, “ The love of Jesus is infectious. We serve during LOVE Week so that people like me can get involved in seeking the peace and prosperity of our city, grow in our faith and lead others to know and understand what it means to serve and be blessed.” His thoughts are based on Jeremiah 29:7, which states, “ Also seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” A few of his most memorable moments are listed below.

CEO, Brad Rhyne, joined in to help Filipe pack school backpacks for children in need at Elevation’s Uptown Campus.

We thought the hairnet suited Filipe well as he served lunch to the homeless at the Urban Ministry Center.

Filipe got his hands dirty with Hands on Charlotte as he helped to improve the outdoor space at Eastway Middle School.

Like what Filipe has been up to this summer? If so, “Like” are Facebook post and tell us how you give back to your local community in the comment section, and we will send you an OLE MASON JAR sticker!

This wraps up our “Filipe Likes” series. We know there is so much we could cover about him, but the summer was only so long. If you have any specific questions about OLE MASON JAR, men’s style, or any related topics send them to: SAM@olemasonjar.com. We may just write about it!
